Whats Involved?

This is for anyone who would like to summit the tallest mountain in the UK at 1344m / 4408ft above sea level, it is certainly a challenge to bag for any person with a love of the outdoors!

Ben Nevis weather can change very quickly especially towards the summit, with thick fog and strong winds coming in and visibility at near enough 0 at times, it can be very dangerous, especially with the scree landscape at the summit and 100ft+ cliff edges, it is not a place to get lost or wander too far from the route. For this matter, we advise people who do not have adequate mountain experience to do this with a experienced guide with great navigational skills and you are in the perfect place for that here at OA.

The views are like no other. As you are at the highest point in the UK, views are not limited. 360 panoramic views of the surrounding Scottish Alps as we like to call it, including the vast Lochs that go on for miles. It is truly astounding!

Kit List:

On Person

  • Base layer (T-Shirt)
  • Light fleece
  • Walking trousers/leggings
  • Walking boots/trail trainers
  • Thick socks
In daysack (Comfortable daysack (15-25 Litres)
  • Hat/gloves
  • Waterproof jacket/trousers
  • Food (Sandwiches, plenty of high energy nutrition, e.g. slow release energy)
  • Water (2L minimum) Lucozade
  • Thick jumper/jacket
  • Sunglasses/sun-cream (optimistic)
  • Personal first aid kit (basics – blister plasters etc.)
  • Personal medication e.g. asthma spray.
