Whats Involved?

Ā Day 1:

8am: Meet atĀ Coniston Hall CampsiteĀ (See map location below). Brief on the days events.

8:30am: Begin the day with setting off to summit the famous Old Man of Coniston reaching an altitudeĀ of 2635ft/803m and descending down Wetherlam route. Along this first challenge of the day you will venture through the old copper mines of Coniston including Low Water tarn just after, seeing the rich history that lies in the mountains, still to this day. The view from 2600+ft is outstanding, especially somewhere like the Lake District.

Day 2:

9am: Begin the day with a challenging scramble upĀ one of the famousĀ rock-facesĀ in the Coniston region. Followed by a big abseil to descend (what goes up,Ā must come down!).

1pm: Fuel up on some dinner.

2pm: Finish the day with an exhilaratingĀ mountain river scramble.

At the end of theĀ 2 day challengeĀ you will feel a champion!

 

Kit List:

On Person

  • Base layer (T-Shirt)
  • Light fleece
  • Walking trousers/leggings
  • Walking boots/trail trainers
  • Thick socks
In daysack (Comfortable daysack (15-25 Litres)
  • Hat/gloves
  • Waterproof jacket/trousers
  • Food (Sandwiches, plenty of high energy nutrition, e.g. slow release energy)
  • Water (2L minimum) Lucozade
  • Thick jumper/jacket
  • Sunglasses/sun-cream (optimistic)
  • Personal first aid kit (basics ā€“ blister plasters etc.)
  • personal medication e.g. asthma spray.

A change of clothes will be needed due to this being a 2 day event. Also, sleeping bags will not be provided, so sourcing your own sleeping bag is crucial.

 

Included in the package isĀ 1Ā nightsĀ campsite accommodation (tents provided by us).
