Whats Involved?

The Cumbria way is a 70 mile walk from Ulverston, close to the shores of Morecambe Bay in the south of the county, through the Lake District National Park to Carlisle in the north. It is mostly in the valleys thus providing an amazing opportunity to see the beauty and scale of the heart of the Lake District. The walk is over 5 days and the itinerary is shown below.

Included in the package is campsite accommodation every night (tents also provided).

Meet at 08:00hrs at the specified location (The Gill, Ulverston) fully detailed below.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Ulverston – Coniston

Day 2 – Coniston – Dungeon Ghyll

Day 3 – Dungeon Ghyll –Keswick

Day 4 – Keswick – Caldbeck

Day 5 – Caldbeck – Carlise

 

Kit List:

On Person

  • Base layer (T-Shirt)
  • Light fleece
  • Walking trousers/leggings
  • Walking boots/trail trainers
  • Thick socks
In daysack (Large Enough to fit all equipment you desire)
  • Hat/gloves
  • Waterproof jacket/trousers
  • Food/Hydration (Sandwiches, plenty of high energy nutrition, e.g. slow release energy) – Towns along the way will provide opportunity to gather more food/water.
  • Thick jumper/jacket
  • Sunglasses/sun-cream (optimistic)
  • Small personal first aid kit (basics – blister plasters etc.)
  • Personal medication e.g. asthma spray.

  • Spare clothing
  • Wash kits/Toothpaste etc
  • Sleeping Bag

 

— Once booked, you will receive an email confirming your place and you will subsequently be put down on our registration system for the event, so that when you turn up on the day at the location specified below, we will have your name down on our list ready to be ticked off. You do not need to bring any confirmation of your booking as its all on our system!

Also, please bear in mind that if you are a returning customer, you may need to have the username and password ready that was sent to you when you first booked with us. This information should be in your email inbox.
