Whats Involved?

Tryfan North Ridge is one of most respected, difficult but most spectacular scrambles in the UK, at Grade 1 level, it is no slouch. You will summit Tryfan (918m / 3011 ft) via the North Ridge, a long sustained scramble with amazing views of the surrounding area of Snowdonia.

Located in the Snowdonia region of Wales this challenge is nestled in the heart of one of most incredible National Parks in the UK.

If there is one peak that is a ‘must do’ as Snowdon, it it most definitely Tryfan and more so via the North Ridge. It is adrenaline fuelled and one for the scrap book that is for sure. With famous points along the route that provide special photo opportunities such as Cannon Rock (seen below) Adam and Eve Rocks (seen below) plus many other, you will not be short of memories to look back on!

There is no easy route up Tryfan, even in fair weather – a seasoned, experienced Mountain Leader is essential and we have you covered here at OA. Don’t miss out on this great ascent of a great mountain. It is not to be missed out on!

On Person

  • Base layer (T-Shirt)
  • Light fleece
  • Walking trousers/leggings
  • Walking boots/trail trainers
  • Thick socks
In daysack (Comfortable daysack (15-25 Litres)
  • Hat/gloves
  • Waterproof jacket/trousers
  • Food (Sandwiches, plenty of high energy nutrition, e.g. slow release energy)
  • Water (2L minimum) Lucozade
  • Thick jumper/jacket
  • Sunglasses/sun-cream (optimistic)
  • Personal first aid kit (basics – blister plasters etc.)
  • Personal medication e.g. asthma spray.
